Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk is Professor of Computer Science at the Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, WIT – Warsaw School of Information Technology, and Chongqing Three Gorges University, Wanzhou, Chinqgqung, China, and Professor of Automatic Control at PIAP – Industrial Institute of Automation and Measurements. He is Honorary Foreign Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Yli Normal University, Xinjiang, China. He is Full Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Member of Academia Europaea, European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Foreign Member of the: Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences (RACEF), Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters, and Flemish Royal Academy of Belgium of Sciences and the Arts (KVAB). He was awarded with 4 honorary doctorates. He is Fellow of IEEE, IET, IFSA, EurAI and SMIA.
His main research interests include the use of modern computation computational and artificial intelligence tools, notably fuzzy logic, in systems science, decision making, optimization, control, data analysis and data mining, with applications in mobile robotics, systems modeling, ICT etc.
He authored 7 books, (co)edited more than 100 volumes, (co)authored more than 600 papers, including ca. 80 in journals indexed by the WoS. Prof. Okyay Kaynak
Okyay Kaynak received the B.Sc. degree with first-class honors and Ph.D. degrees in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK, in 1969 and 1972, respectively. Click here for the CV
From 1972 to 1979, he held various positions within the industry. In 1979, he joined the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, where he is currently a Professor Emeritus, holding the UNESCO Chair on Mechatronics. He has held long-term (near to or more than a year) Visiting Professor/Scholar positions at various institutions in Japan, Germany, the U.S., Singapore, and China. His current research interests are in the broad field of intelligent systems. He has authored three books, edited five, and authored or co-authored more than 450 papers that have appeared in various journals and conference proceedings.
Dr. Kaynak has served as the Editor in Chief of IEEE Trans. on Industrial Informatics, IEEE/ASME Trans. on Mechatronics and as the Co-Editor in Chief of IEEE Trans. on Industrial Electronics. He presently serves as the Founding Editor-in-Chief of Springer journal Discover Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, he is on the Editorial or Advisory Boards of several scholarly journals. He has received the Chinese Government’s Friendship Award, Humboldt Research Prize, Doctor Honoris Causa, Obuda University, Hungary (2020) and the Academy Prize of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (2020). Prof. Habib Zaidi
Habib Zaidi is Chief physicist and head of the PET Instrumentation & Neuroimaging Laboratory at Geneva University Hospital and full Professor at the medical school of Geneva University. He is also a Professor of Medical Physics at the University of Groningen (Netherlands), Adjunct Professor of Medical Physics and Molecular Imaging at the University of Southern Denmark, Adjunct Professor of Medical Physics at Shahid Beheshti University and visiting Professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He is actively involved in developing imaging solutions for cutting-edge interdisciplinary biomedical research and clinical diagnosis in addition to lecturing undergraduate and postgraduate courses on medical physics and medical imaging.
Prof. Vilem Novak
Prof. Vilem Novak, Ph.D., DSc. is founder and former director of the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling of the University of
Ostrava, Czech Republic. The institute (established in 1996) is one of the world-renowned scientific workplaces that significantly contributed to the theory and applications of fuzzy modeling.
V. Novak obtained a PhD in mathematical logic at Charles University, Prague in 1988; DSc. (Doctor of Sciences) in computer science in the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw in 1995; full professor at Masaryk University, Brno in 2001. His research activities include mathematical fuzzy logic, approximate reasoning, mathematical modeling of linguistic semantics, fuzzy control,analysis and forecasting of time series, and various kinds of fuzzy modeling applications. He belongs among pioneers of the fuzzy set theory.
He was general chair of the VIIth IFSA'97 World Congress, Prague and of the international conferences EUSFLAT 2007, Ostrava and EUSFLAT 2019, Prague. He is a member of editorial boards of several scientific journals. He is often invited to give plenary talks at international conferences and to give university lectures all over the world.
He is the author or co-author of 5 scientific monographs, two edited monographs, and over 300 scientific papers with over 7000 citations. He was awarded in the International Conference FLINS 2010 in China and obtained the title "IFSA fellow" in 2017 for his scientific achievements. He is currently the vice-president of IFSA.
